January 2013
Having inspected all the montanas in the garden during January, the only one to show no sign of life is the spectacular 'Hidcote' - the largest flower of all in the group. When a new fence was erected along the bank boundary two years ago, a concrete post was dug in only inches away from the plant. It flowered sparsely last year. I have contacted Glyn Jones, Head Gardener of Hidcote Manor Gardens. Glyn has kindly agreed to root a cutting for me.
